Why Learn to Play Bass Guitar

Good bass players are one of the most in demand musicians as every band in Melbourne seems to be looking for a bass player. A good bass player can make an average band sound great while a bad bass player can make a good band sound bad. Bass guitar lessons can improve your bass playing and musical prospects.

Often bass guitar can be one of those instruments stigmatised with being boring, simple or not as “cool” or challenging as guitar. As a guitarist turned bass player I have found this to not be the case at all. While there are a lot of rock bass lines that are not very interesting or challenging there are a whole lot of exciting and challenging bass to be heard and played in all styles of music. Here are list of players and their respective bands. I’d highly recommend checking them out on YouTube for further bass inspiration.

Anthony Pell & Victor WootenI got to meet Victor Wooten at a Bass Clinic in Melbourne. He is one of the most amazing players to ever play the bass guitar.
